The letter M in a circle watermark.According to both Schreiber and Nagler, the presence of the Augsburg coat-of-arms in the lower center of the image next to the artist's name "Claus" refers to the Augsburg artist Claus Wolff Strigel as the author of this work.An extremely scarce print; we have not found another impression at auction in the past 20 years. Trimmed on or just inside the plate mark, with part of the original black border line preserved at the upper, lower and right edges.
