The father was severely wounded in action and served as Adj to General De Wet. The son served in the OVS Kommando. They are both in the photo from the book. Description: Death Plaque to Edwin Tufnell HAYNE - research shows he was a flying ace with the RNAS. He won a DSC 30 November 1917. He won the DFC 21 September 1918. The DSC citation as follows. In recognition of his services with a wing of the RNAS. He had numerous engagements with enemy aircraft. Attacked an enemy aerodrome and put a whole flight of machines out of action. DFC Citation.
