Description: A pair of electro-plated oval revolving breakfast dishes, circa 1900, each engraved with a band of arabesques in ovals, beaded rims, ivory button handles, four slender supports, a liner and a pierced drainer, engraved with a crest and a belted motto 'Caen cressie calais', 32.5cm (12.25in) wide (one with a later burner holder beneath) The crest of RADCLIFFE within a strap and buckle inscribed with the motto commemorating the exploits (temp. Edward III) of Sir John Radclyffe of Ordshall, Lancashire at the sieges of Caen and Calais and at the battle of Cressy.
