Sale Notes:
James D. Julia, Inc. is pleased to present another splendid array of fresh-to-the-market, quality goods for our important November Toy, Doll, & Antique Advertising auction. Assembled from collections and estates from across the United States, highlights include exquisite French and German character dolls such as an exceedingly rare 200-series Crying Jumeau, six Brus, and several Jumeaus, and a rare Martha Chase George Washington doll with provenance to the Chase family. The selection of dolls continues with a desirable and large Einco googly, F.G.s, Steiners, a collection of Door of Hope dolls, and more. In addition will be a marvelous selection of toys including tin wind-ups, cast iron, and pressed steel. From one Texas collector comes a massive grouping of German military toys. With a concentration on WWII, it includes over 80 manned vehicles by Lineol, Elastolin, and others, representing a marvelous buying opportunity for the military toy aficionado. Included are numerous spotlight cars, field cannons, transport vehicles, and a massive array of wood and composition accessories, bunkers, high wall trenches, and other setups. From a New England private home is a collection of American and European trains representing nearly half a century of collecting with scarce examples from Fleischmann, Marklin, Hornby, Metrop, Fulgerex, Roco, and others. The sale continues with a grand selection of coin-op, arcade, slots, vending, and more. Joining the fray is a grouping of music machines including sought after names such as Scriber, Lecoultre, Stella, Regina, Bremond, Mermod, and others. Antique advertising includes signs, clocks, displays, and a collection of items featuring perhaps one of the earliest spokesmen, the very popular Yellow Kid (including signs, rare ads, machines, pinback buttons, postcards, display figures, and more). This will be a tremendous buying opportunity for both the beginning and advanced collector that you won't want to miss.
