Sale Notes:

At 10am session one from the estate of Dr & Mrs Llwellyn Thomas Evans Jaffrey, NH which has been in a bank vault for the past 18 years, most of this collection was purchased at Sotheby's Park Bernet in the 1950's through the 1970's, with most of the original lot stickers still attached. To this we have added 8 pieces of Chinese jade from a Northern NW estate collection. The entire first section of this auction will be sold with out reserve. Alaskan Miniature Carving of a totem pole, deity kneeling figures portrayed w/large head & eyes, 3 ¾" tall. Estimate $800-$1,200

 

Lot 2: Carved Whale Bone/Tooth

Carved Whale Bone/Tooth marked, "Alaska 1922 #20146, letters SFWA," 6 ½" long. Estimate $150-250

 

Lot 3: Carved Ivory Seal

Carved Ivory Seal, baleen inserts for face, normal ivory crack marks, 4 ½" long. Estimate $900-1,200

 

Lot 4: Carved Ivory Shoe Horn

Carved Ivory Shoe Horn, 1 side has a primitive reindeer hunting scene, the other depicting a whale hunting scene on top & a land hunting scene. 4 3/8" long x 1". Estimate $900-1,100

 

Lot 5: Healing Wand in the form of a fish

Healing Wand in the form of a fish, carved wooden head, hollow bone body w/geometric designs & (head works as a stopper), 5 ½" long. Estimate $1,100-1,300
