within an arch standing with hands clasped in prayer looking up to Christ in Majesty above, inscribed in Greek letters, fractured (2)
Lot 4: AN OTTONIAN BOOK IVORY COVER, MEUSE OR RHINELAND, PROBABLY MIDDLE THIRD 11TH CENTURY
Carved in three registers within a foliate border, the eyes filled, traces of gilding, drilled for attachment in each corner with one corner damaged, the back scratched and collector's mark L.
