Description: A 19th century Italian carved walnut casket with gilt detail The hinged domed rectangular top surmounted with a sleeping putto, the main body carved with panels of nesting birds and dragons amongst scrollwork, one side panel inscribed GOSIe QUERCI, the opposing side panel carved with a cartouche amongst dolphins and scrolling foliage, above the gadrooned base standing on hairy paw feet. 43 cms wide. Some slight wear, some slight chipping and losses, interior re- lined with velvet, locks possibly replaced, slight damage to one top corner, two back feet repaired.

Description: An early 19th century brass mounted rosewood travelling secretaire The hinged rectangular top enclosing a leather lined writing surface, various pigeon holes and lidded compartments, one housing a pair of gilt metal candle sconces, and a spring loaded secret panel enclosing three drawers, (the release mechanism disguised as a screw) above a single drawer, with flush brass carrying handles. 46 cms wide. Generally in good condition, expected wear, leather worn, slight losses to some veneer, lacking book rail, no key.
