Description: QUEEN ANNE SILVER TANKARD, Philip Roker I, London, 1705. Tapered cylindrical form; with scroll handle, the thumbpiece with AL monogram; the underside inscribed "Raymond Skinner Clark Jr. from his great grandfather John Pierpont Morgan, December 27th 1938"; centering a TPS monogram. Accompanied by letter dated January 23, 1939 from J.P. Morgan Jr. to the recipient's father stating "...I send it herewith as a present for the young man, hoping he may find it useful for milk or water till he is old enough to use it for nobler things such as beer..." - 10 oz., 2 dwt.; 4 1/2 in. high, overall.

Condition Report: The handle with maker's mark. In overall good condition. The body has small pocks throughout. The rims with slight warping. The underside with small repair to center and possible repair along edge.
