Description: Australian tour of England 1930. 'The Ashes'. Official menu for the home coming Dinner given by the Victorian Cricket Association to celebrate regaining 'The Ashes'. The Dinner held on the 15th November 1930 at The Members Pavilion of the Melbourne Cricket Ground and was attended by the returning players and officials. Excellent front cover cartoon illustration by artist Samuel Wells showing a kangaroo, with its head depicted by the heads of the returning cricketers, holding the Ashes urn and carrying a cricket bat, wearing pads and cricket boots standing in Australia with the defeated English lion behind and the Union Jack at half mast. Ribbon tie. Titles, menu and toasts to inside pages. Menu by E. Whitehead of Melbourne. Rare. VG

Description: M.C.C. tour of Australia 1946/47. Official menu for the Dinner 'In honour of the M.C.C. team. Given by the Chairman and Members of the Australian Cricket Board of Control for International Cricket'. The Dinner was held at the Hotel Windsor, Melbourne on the 4th January 1947. Excellent front cover cartoon illustration by artist Samuel Wells showing a lion and kangaroo dancing around the Ashes urn with audience applauding, titles, menu and toasts to inside pages. Ribbon tie. Menu by E. Whitehead of Melbourne. This was Doug Wright's menu from the tour. VG

Original printed invitation to Ernest McCormick to a Luncheon 'To wish 'Bon Voyage to the Eighteenth Australian Cricket Team, prior to departure to England. The President (Can E.S. Hughes) and the members of the Victoria Cricket Association request the pleasure of Mr E.L. McCormick at a Luncheon...'. The Luncheon was held at the Hotel Alexander, Spencer Street, Melbourne on the 9th March 1934. The card signed by McCormick and fellow tour party players, Stork Hendry and Arthur Chipperfield. Light adhesive marks to verso otherwise in good condition. Rare

Original printed invitation to Ernest McCormick to a Smoke Social 'The President and Committee of the Carlton Cricket Club request the pleasure of the company of Mr E.L. McCormick at a Smoke Social to welcome home our Captain, Mr W.M. Woodfull, Captain of Australian Eleven with the members of the team'. The Smoke Social was held at the The Pavilion, Carlton Ground on the 17th November 1934. The card signed by McCormick and fellow tour party players, Stork Hendry and Arthur Chipperfield. Light creasing otherwise in good condition. Rare. Sold with a further small printed Christmas greeting card from a Mr Peter Dawson of Ealing with message handwritten to verso 'Bravo Clarrie (Grimmett)!. See you 1936. Saw Don (Bradman) the other day. He looks fine. Hope you are fit. All the best from both of us. Peter'. G

Description: Leicestershire Cricket Ground Company 1898. Two early and rare season ticket cards for the 1898 season. One ticket hand numbered, number 47, signed by the recipient and dated 17th April 1898, the other un-numbered and un-dated. Printed address of the 'Ground Manager, W.H. Bearman, Leicestershire Cricket Ground, Aylestone' to verso. G/VG The present Leicestershire County Cricket Club played its first First Class match in 1894 and became a member of the County Championship in 1895
