Hutchison, 1823, pp.8, woodcut title, browned, folded and disbound as issued, 150 x 100 mm (6 x 4 ins), plus pp.8, The Disappointed Lover; to which are added, Up in the Morning, Wellington's Address, My Bonny Jean, Stirling, W. Containing the Whole Alphabet in all the Characters now us'd both in Printing and Penmanship; Each illustrated by Emblematic Devices and Moral Copies, Calculated for the Use of Schools, and Curiously Engrav'd by the Best Hands, printed for and sold by T. Bellamy, c.1750, fifty eng. plts., comprising half-title/frontis. title-page, and twenty-four emblematic illustrations on versos by J. Hulett, T. Hutchinson, W. Tringham, and F. Garden, each with accompanying eng. text on facing rectos, 2pp. letterpress, contents generally foxed and stained, a number of tears and adhesive tape repairs, and two of the eng. text leaves deficient (one with loss of text), binder's blanks at front and rear torn away, marbled endpapers, front free endpaper partially excised, contemp. red morocco, soiled and extrems. worn, raised bands, second compartment lacking label, remainder with alternating catherine wheel and sunburst tools in centre, with a star at each corner, covers with wide gilt border of triple fillets and pelmet roll with bird tool, sm. oblong 4to.
