Description: A GERMAN EBONY, EBONIZED WOOD, WALNUT, SILVER, GLASS AND HARDSTONE MOUNTED CASE CLOCK Maker unknown, Germany, 17th century elements and later 40-1/2 inches high (102.9 cm) The case of tabernacle form surmounted by a gadrooned red glass finial, above a copper and brass revolving moon with a brass age of moon disc below, the serpentine shaped cresting with repoussé silver mounts of amorini and foliage, a central silver cartouche showing a classically draped female figure with military and scholastic trophies, the four spiral-twisted glass columns with Corinthian capitals, the silver Roman and Arabic dial with foliate repoussé center, associated pierced and engraved ormolu hands, the shaped stepped and canted plinth with a central drawer and on bracket feet; associated French eight day twin barrels movement.
