Vicente Rojo Biography

(b Barcelona, 1932). Mexican painter, draughtsman and sculptor of Spanish birth. He spent his professional life in Mexico, studying briefly at the Escuela de Pintura y Escultura ‘La Esmeralda’ in Mexico City in 1950 and from 1953 to 1955 in the studio of the Mexican painter Antonio Souto. His early collaboration with the Mexican painter and draughtsman Miguel Prieto (1907–56) was also decisive for his initial development.
