(b Castleplunket, Co. Roscommon, Ireland 1860; d Nueil-sur-Layon, France 1940) Irish painter. Roderic O’Conor is known for his heavily Impressionist-influenced paintings. The inspiration behind O’Conor’s work is clearly drawn from Georges Seurat and his followers and more obviously from Signac, whose style O’Conor’s artwork most closely resembles.
