studied
at
Goldsmiths’
School
of
Art
(1925–9)
and
went
on
to
the
Royal
College
of
Art
(1929–32),
where
she
met
and
in
1930
married
Kenneth
Martin.
Like
her
husband,
she
set
little
store
by
her
early
work;
she
dated
her
career
as
an
artist
from
1950,
when
she
painted
her
first
abstract
pictures.
