fellow
students
were
Eugène
Laermans,
Victor
Rousseau
and
Victor
Horta.
From
1887
he
exhibited
at
LEssor,
where
in
1888
Mother
(untraced),
which
depicts
a
woman
writhing
in
labour,
caused
a
scandal.
