naval
doctor,
Bilibin
was
educated
in
St
Petersburg,
studying
law
at
the
University
(1896–1900)
and
art
at
the
school
of
the
Society
for
the
Encouragement
of
the
Arts
(1895–8);
then,
under
Il’ya
Repin,
he
studied
at
both
Princess
Maria
Tenisheva’s
Art
School
(1898–1900)
and
the
Academy
of
Arts
(1900–04).
